FAQs

Do you have a physical shop?

Yes! We're at The Refill Barn, Walden Road, Radwinter, CB10 2SP. See our Visit page for opening hours and directions.

Are you wheelchair friendly?

Yes. There's a ramp at the front door and enough space between our aisles and shelves for wheelchair users to move around comfortably. If you have any questions before visiting, just give us a call.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, in our front seating area — we'd love to meet them! We ask that dogs stay there rather than further into the shop, since we handle a lot of loose food throughout the day. Assistance dogs are of course welcome throughout.

I find it all a bit overwhelming. Where do I start?

Totally understandable, and you're not alone. Most customers find their footing after just one visit. You don't need to overhaul everything at once — pick one or two products you go through regularly, bring a container next time, and build from there. We're always happy to walk you through the shop and show you how it all works.

How does it all work?

For our unpackaged goods, it's simple: weigh it, fill it, we'll price it. Weigh your empty container first, fill it with what you need, then bring it to the till — we'll weigh it again and charge you for the contents. If you're ever unsure, just ask and we'll talk you through it.

What is 'zero waste'?

At its simplest, zero waste means sending as little as possible to landfill. Reducing what you use, and reusing what you already have rather than buying new packaging every time. It's less about being perfect and more about small, steady changes.

Do you use takeaway cups?

We don't stock disposable ones — even "eco-friendly" cups create waste once they've been used. Bring your own reusable cup for your coffee, or grab one of our in-house mugs to enjoy while you shop.

Can I bring my own containers?

Please do. We actively encourage it! Any clean container or bag from home works, as long as it can be weighed. If you don't have enough with you, we've got you covered (see below).

What if I forgot my containers, or don't have enough?

No problem at all. We keep a supply of washed and sterilised pre-loved jars in various sizes for 40p, or you're welcome to use one of our paper bags

What about allergens and ingredients?

We take hygiene seriously and hold a Level 5 Food Hygiene Rating (the highest awarded by our local authority). That said, because we sell loose foods including nuts, seeds, and other allergens, there's always some risk of cross-contamination or airborne particles in an unpackaged shop. If you have a serious allergy or intolerance, please speak to a member of our team before you buy — we're happy to help you shop safely.

Do you offer dairy milk?

We offer plant-based alternatives for our drinks — oat is our house standard and pairs beautifully with our Allpress coffee. We also stock other plant-based alternatives and can cater to most dietary requirements, so just ask if you don't see what you need.
